Charming bed & breakfast cottage surrounded by pristine native bush and farmland.

Tolka Cottage is a wildlife haven, located 20 minutes from Casterton, home of the famous Kelpie Festival,  only 1 hour from the Coonawarra wine region and Mt. Gambier Blue Lakes and 1 ½ hours from the Great Ocean Road, Nelson & Portland on the coast & the Hamilton/Grampians region.

The Cottage is a short walk to the Glenelg River where you can see platypus, kangaroos, wallabies, emus, koalas & over 140 species of birds including the endangered Red-tailed Black Cockatoo.

BREAKFAST

All the ingredients for a great country breakfast are provided – farm fresh eggs, bacon, tomatoes, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, homemade jams & bread, filter coffee & a variety of teas.

 

PICNICS

Picnic hampers & provisions for other meals can be ordered by prior arrangement.

Local events and nearby attractions

The Cottage is a short walk to the Glenelg River where you can see platypus, kangaroos, wallabies, emus, koalas & over 140 species of birds including the endangered Red-tailed Black Cockatoo.

THE WILKIN FAUNA & FLORA RESERVE is renowned for its orchids & spring wildflowers from August to October.

The annual Kelpie Muster in June or walk the Kelpie Trail in Casterton.

Explore Bailey’s Rocks, Dundas Tableland, Warrock Homestead, Bilston’s Tree.

Hummocks & Dartmoor.  Kayak or canoe in the Glenelg River.

Return in the evening to the tranquil, peaceful and comfortable Tolka Cottage.

Rates

RATES

$160 per couple per night

$80 per extra person per night

Children under 12 years $50 per night

Mid week rental (Monday to Thursday) – book 4 nights and pay for 3 nights (this rate only applies for 2 or more people)

Minimum stay two nights – weekends and long weekends.

Kelpie Festival weekend 3 nights minimum stay with

minimum number of people 4 adults

Weekly rental (7 nights)  for 1 couple $900

HORSES

Horse agistment/boarding facilities can be provided for $15 per day in yards and $20 per day in stable.

Horse health certificates for tetanus/strangles & worming must be current.

 

DOGS

Dogs are welcome outside in a secure, fully fenced running area.

Food & water bowls can be provided.

Please supply a current vaccination certificate prior to arrival.
